Position: Volatiles Analyst        
Hours:

Monday - Friday, 8:30AM - 5:30PM

Essential duties and responsibilities:

Analytical Environmental Services, a growing and successful NELAC Certified laboratory, is seeking a Technical Manager. The Technical Manager helps the Technical Director with all functions of the Technical Department and additional Quality Assurance (QA) Department tasks.

Job Duties Include the Following:

  • Perform instrument calibrations, data calculations and work with industrial hygiene samples

  • Process samples and perform routine instrument maintenance

  • Document standard and sample preparation

  • Review data generated prior to entering and submitting the data to the next level of review.

  • Must have at least one year of work experience with the GC/MS

Other Information

Starting salary range is $28,000 - $35,000/year - based on experience.  We are a drug-free workplace. AES offers full benefits after 90 days (PTO, Health, 401K, AFLAC).

  • Operate spectrophotometer, weigh out samples, prepare re-agents, handle B.O.Ds, perform titrations and maintain documentation in a log book.

  • Must adhere to analytical and quality control protocols prescribed by SOP’s, the QA Manual, and project specific requirements.

  • Ability to work nights and weekends if necessary,

Essential duties and responsibilities:

Analytical Environmental Services, a growing and successful NELAC Certified laboratory, is seeking a Technical Manager. The Technical Manager helps the Technical Director with all functions of the Technical Department and additional Quality Assurance (QA) Department tasks.

The duties of the position are the following:

·        MUST HAVE EXPERIENCE with state certification & national accreditation programs such as NELAC, AIHA, North Carolina, South Carolina, etc.

·        MUST HAVE A STRONG BACKGROUND in Volatiles, Semi-Volatiles, Wet Chemistry, and Metals.

·        Updating SOP's as required. 

·        Maintain Test Codes

·        Ensures that all employees are properly trained, and maintains records of training including acceptable performance of IDOCS (Initial Demonstration of Capability).

·        Maintain electronic records, reports or files with respect to scanning posting, and tracking all SOP sign-off forms, IDOCs/CDOCs, and logbooks.

·        Provide technical assistance in the development of new methods and technical guidance to analytical staff.

·        Assist with Internal & External audits

·        Ensures that appropriate corrective actions are taken to address analysis identified as requiring such actions by internal & external performance audits or procedural audits.

·        Oversees equipment and maintenance repair. 

·        Assists Laboratory Managers in the investigation of new technologies and proposed equipment acquisitions by the laboratory.

·        Assist the Technical Director with development of training program content and media

·        Responsible for the creation & troubleshooting of all client requested Electronic Data Deliverables (EDDs).

·        Responsible for maintaining, updating, modifying, issuing, collecting, tracking, retiring and scanning laboratory logbooks, checklists, and assorted records. 

·        Responsible for routine checks, maintenance and calibrations of various laboratory controls and records including, but not limited to, pipettes, balances, weights, thermometers, conductivity meters, and temperatures.

·        Evaluating information to determine compliance with Environmental Standards & Regulations.

·        Will make decisions without supervision.
